She's 12!!!

Today is Shelby's 12th birthday, so to celebrate today, we took her out for dinner. We went to El Tapatio, which is one of her favorite places to eat. We said that it was her birthday and all the waiters and waitresses came and sang Happy Birthday to her (in spanish)!!! It was so funny watching Shelby!!! As you can see, I was able to get a picture of her with the birthday sombrero. After dinner, we had Ice Cream at the Marble Slab!!!
Happy Birthday Shelby, We Love You VERY Much!!

Where the Eagles Roam

Dad has been tellling me about seeing an eagle's nest down on the lake. He said he had been seeing an eagle close by too. I told him that sometime when we could get together, I wanted to go out on the lake with him and try to get some pictures. Today was the day! He called, I got the cameras and headed to the lake! We went up the lake about a mile and stopped to look at the nest. We couldn't see it good enough to get a picture, but I could see the eagle moving. We had been there maybe two minutes and in flies another eagle. It flies right over us so I start snapping pictures. It lands in a tree nearby and then we hear the two eagles start "talking" to each other. We sat and watched them. The one that was on the nest leaves and the other one flies in and lands next to the nest. It landed a couple branches over from the nest and I was able to get a good picture. I had never saw an eagle "up close and personal" like that before, so this was an awesome experience for me! Take a look at this beautiful bird!

Meet Emma Grace Robinson

Emma Grace is finally here! We have patiently been waiting for her arrival. She was delivered this morning at 4:28. She weighed 6 pounds 11 ounces, 18 inches long. Her big brother, Evan, could hardly wait to get to the hospital to see her! She is doing really good and Angie is doing good. She came a few weeks early but the doctor said everything looks okay. Congratulations Angie, Brandon & Big Brother Evan!

What did you do?

Ever wonder what other people do on Valentine's Day? Is it just another day? Is it a special day? Here's what we did for Valentine's Day......

Wayne started Valentine's Day out by cooking breakfast. We had country ham, eggs, and biscuits. YUMMY! Shelby went to see her Granny O and had lunch with her. Later in the afternoon, we (me and Wayne) took Shelby to the movies for Valentine's Day. We watched Hotel for Dogs. (good movie) After the movie, we had pizza for supper. My Valentine for Wayne and Shelby were a pan of heart shaped brownies! We decided to just keep it simple this year!

So, what did you do for Valentine's Day? C'mon, tell me!

Happy Valentine's Day!

A LOT OF FIRSTS

Well, as most of you know, a year ago this month, I went on a medical mission trip to Africa. I experienced several things for the first time like: flying-my first time flight was almost ten hours...I guess if I am gonna do it, do it right the first time! mission trip- This was my first mission trip I had ever gone on. Leaving the Country--this was definately a first!

We spent a couple months getting prepared for this trip. We had to take special shots, special medicine, have meetings with other team members who were going, and most of all get mentally
prepared.
Me, personally, I probably prayed more in those 2 months than I had prayed in a long time! Not knowing what to expect, flying, leaving my family, all of this was scary for me. The experience was worth every second of nervousness that I had! I thank God for letting me have this amazing experience!

This is the team that went. There were 9 team members that went from Tennessee. The guy in the very back was the missionary that was there waiting on us to arrive. The team members are: Me, Angie,Roger, Leda & Tom Riley, Dave, Alvin, Jim, Mike. (These last 4 guys were from Cleveland, Tn)
This is us after having about 3-4 hours of sleep after our plane ride to Africa!

This is what I could see from my window seat! It looks soooo soft!! I would fly anywhere in the world now! I loved it!

This was people waiting outside the wall of the compound to get in to the medical clinic.

This was our meals!! We ate around what we called the "community bowl". They would bring the food out in a big bowl and everybody was supposed to DIG IN!! with your hand, and all eat out of the same bowl. This was definately different! Our meals would consit of some kind of meat, chicken or goat or fish, with rice or potatoes. Nothing like we had ever tasted. You might see a chicken running around this morning and it might be supper tonight!
I have many more pictures I could share, but this is just a few. If you ever get the opportunity to experience something like this, do it! It was so amazing to see and experience a different way of life for a few days. As we were leaving, it was a bitter sweet feeling....glad to go back to our family, but really hated to leave because there were so many people there that needed our help. I hope in a couple years that I will be able to go back. Maybe, I can get Wayne to go with me! (yeah right)
Although, it was a wonderful experience and I will never forget it, I really enjoy simple life with the clayborns.

Take Time to Laugh....at YOURSELF!

Isn't it funny how we do things, then look back and it is so funny?

This morning, I went to the eye doctor and I got contacts. (had them before, but went back to glasses) When I got home I was online checking email and stuff, I caught myself trying to push my glasses up! :o)

Also, while on the computer, keep in mind it is a laptop, I had my cell phone right beside the computer. I put my had on the cell phone and started moving it like it was the mouse to my computer. NOTHING HAPPENED! I just looked at the computer like something was wrong and started to panic......oh no, my computer is not working right! Then, I realized what I was doing! Well, at least nobody SAW me do this!

See, it's the simple life with the Clayborns, that make me laugh!
